US Army Mechanized, how it works?

Q: Can anyone tell me how a platoon in a mechanized battalion would work, like the organization of a platoon. or show me where the resources to look are...i just want to see how its broken down and who's in charge of who?

A: First of all, a Bradley Fighting Vehicle is not a tank. Secondly the vehicle commander in the case of a Bradley is called a TC (Track Commander) not the Squad Leader. The Squad leader dismounts the vehicle for fighting leaving the TC, Driver and Gunner to man the vehicle. A mechanized platoon consists of 4 Vehicles and 4 squads. One squad per vehicle. Each squad consists of 12 men, 3 of which make up the vehicle crew and 9 make up the dismount squad. Generally each mechanized company consists of 3 line platoons and 1 headquarters platoon for a grand total of 16 Bradley's and a couple of HUMVEE's and FMTV's. These numbers can vary but generally speaking this is how a mechanized platoon and company are organized.
