Q: I think rape is a most disgusting crime, second only to paedophilia, but I think yes. This is for 2 reasons, firstly, even being suspected of rape can have devastating effects for a man, their will always be people who will never fully trust them again. Secondly, it makes it harder for women who have been raped for real to be believed. What do you think? I mean in cases without any doubt with clear proof. Good point Lori, but many women don't report it now out of fear or shame, as I said just in clear cases where they deliberately set out to lie not a 'was it or wasn't it consensual' case.
A: I totally understand what you mean, I mean being accused of a crime you commit can lead to you being hunted down, isolated and tormented. Think of all the poor women who were (falsely) accused of being Maxine Carr and completely alienated. I think that people who commit perjury should be sentenced according to the seriousness of their lie.
