Is a broke man's copyright a legal document? I case you're wondering....?

Q: let's say you design a logo. You mail it to yourself and do not open it. If someone tries to copy it you open it and i guess that makes it an infringement? Is it hard to copyright through the government?

A: Because it is postmarked by the USPS, it is considered legal proof of the absolute latest date at which the item could have been created, allowing you to demonstrate that you rightfully own the copyright. Edit: It is not difficult to register your copyright in the US. See the site below. It can all be done online even.
