Q: "Palin, cast at last week's Republican National Convention as a supportive husband, oil rig worker and championship snowmachine racer, has emerged in the days since as also a powerful figure in his wife's administration. Despite holding no government position, he attends official meetings and is copied on e-mails concerning state business." Quote above from article located at: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/palin_troopergate I can't imagine any business would ever tolerate such an action to a non-employed spouse. I think most businesses would start to question such an employee ... and probably end up giving them a warning, questioning why they are cc'g their husband or wife with official possibly privileged confidential or proprietary business, ... and ultimately terminating them. Do they lack the knowledge or ability and or confidence to make a decision on their own? Are they competent to do the job that they were hired to do? Are they unsure or incapable of doing the job without a spouse helping them? Are they breaching the confidentiality or privacy of any matters? Are they breaching any fiduciary duties? With an elected official - is the spouse also sworn in with the oath of office? How much is the spouse actually involved and running the show? If I vote to elect someone, I am not electing their spouse to micromanage or otherwise be involved in running their office or doing their job. But that's just my opinion, what do you think?
A: Wow, I had heard all about the trouper gate scandal but I hadn't heard her husband was involved. Palin and her husband are fishy, no pun intended, and I knew there was a scheme immediately - without even knowing anything about her - when McCain chose her as his running mate. I think that there is always support and help from spouses, but they should never be involved in the official business. That's insane. For any business or any government. Barack the vote.
