I've got a question for the republicans out there?

Q: Ok, my family and alot of people I know are republican(I'm an independent) and I've noticed a pattern and would like to get your input. Almost all of them only listen, watch or read decidly right wing news sources. I don't have a problem with them watching Fox News, however it is their only source for news. Why do all the republicans I know do this and ignore almost all other newssources? I personally get most of my news off the net and will occasionally listen to various news broadcast but know how to tell the difference from news and editorials presented as news. Is it so hard to listen to different opinions? Or is it lazyness, or apathy? I'm really conbfounded by this. Do you as a republican try to limit your news sources to those with opions similar to yours? Why or why not? Please no answers that are canidate or paarty specific. I'm not asking you to tell be what a good or bad guys Senator Obama or Senator McaCain are. I've already done my homework on them through non-partison sources. Mostly with www.factcheck.org but also with others. Speaking of www.factcheck.org, do you use it? Why or why not? Thanks! Thanks to the Dems that answered. Although not who I was intended to getanswers from, they areinsightful. I've got another questionfor the republicans that answered that left wing news sources were their primary source for news. Aren't you afraid your not getting the whole story? Wouldn't you want to see all information that is avalible and base your opinions on that? thanks again to allthat have answered so far!

A: I think it is hard to decide that an individual is closed minded by who they listen too or watch. I personally watch FOX mostly and listen to the right wing talk shows. This however, does not make me a cheerleader for the republican party. I can become physically sick watching the other main news networks when they report on political and social issues. They tend to slant to the left. If my beliefs are not this direction, why would I want to watch. On the same notion, I do believe that FOX does cheerleader a little to much to the republican cause. Based on my opinions as to what I watch, you could probably find a different perspective from 99.9% of the country. Hence, to single out certain people for watching conservative slanted shows completely excludes those that do the same on the liberal side.
