Q: I do some activism with folks in my neighborhood. Most people are not very rich around here and many don't have time for activism. I'm sort of middle class (I guess) but I have some extra money and time and I know how to talk to the press and such. Recently people have been assuming I'm in charge, but I'm not, I'm just helping out with things that started before we moved here. I don't think it right for some new person to swoop in and take over and I'm wary of taking things in the wrong direction. But so few other people have time and the issues we're working on are important.
A: Perhaps a new person coming in and taking charge is just what they need. Sounds like you're breathing new life into something that went flat and the folks in your neighborhood appreciate that. Maybe you're a born leader. Embrace that and be their inspiration! Good luck! :-)
